My background is a mix of sourcing and sales, which taught me to see things from both sides. I understand what buyers need, but I also understand how suppliers think, communicate and make decisions. That helps me find solutions that work for both sides, rather than simply finding the lowest price.
Six years ago I left a comfortable but stagnant job and started again from scratch at a trading company, with almost no experience in international sales. I spent the next three years learning the business from the ground up and gradually built a combination of sales and sourcing management skills. Looking back, stepping out of my comfort zone was one of the best decisions I made, and that mix of experience is a big part of what I bring to my work now.
I probably would have moved into international trade earlier. One thing I have learned is that hard work matters, but choosing the right direction matters just as much. Once I found work that suited my strengths and interests, the same effort took me much further.
Working with the team at Epic has been a period of constant learning and fast growth. Every project brings a different challenge and often takes a lot of energy to solve, but that is also what makes it rewarding. There is a real sense of achievement in finding a solution and seeing positive feedback from a client.
Outside work I enjoy reading, travelling, spending time with my kids, and going to live concerts.
Lisa is involved from the very beginning of a project, whether the client starts with an idea, a drawing, or a technical requirement. She helps turn that into something a factory can actually make, then works through supplier sourcing, technical discussions, sampling, problem solving, production and delivery until the product exists.
Having spent years on the manufacturing and sales side before moving into sourcing, she reads both parties well. That is what makes the technical conversations shorter and the trade-offs clearer, particularly on products that are not straightforward to make.
