Sourcing white label products sounds simple in theory — find a factory, put your logo on it, done. In practice, it’s where a lot of NZ businesses get burned. Wrong factory, inconsistent quality, hidden MOQs, communication breakdowns, dodgy freight. Epic Sourcing takes all of that off your plate.
We do the supplier search for you — filtering out trading companies, bad actors, and factories that can’t meet your specs. You get a shortlist of verified manufacturers, not a gamble.
Our on-the-ground team in China inspects samples and conducts pre-shipment checks before anything leaves the factory. No nasty surprises when the container arrives.
We charge a flat project rate and nothing else. No commission on your order value, no incentive to push you toward a pricier factory. What’s good for your product is good for us.
Whether you’re launching your first SKU or adding to an established range, our process grows with you. We help you build manufacturer relationships that are yours to keep.
White label products are manufactured by a third-party factory and sold under your own brand. You don't design the product from scratch — the factory produces it to a standard specification, and you apply your branding. Think: your logo on a supplement tub, your hang tag on an activewear set, your label on a candle.
It's one of the fastest and most cost-effective ways for NZ businesses to get a branded product range to market. You skip the R&D, reduce your upfront investment, and still sell something that looks and feels like yours.
The challenge? Finding the right factory — one that actually manufactures (not just trades), meets your quality standards, can hit your MOQ, and won't ghost you after the first sample. That's where most NZ importers hit a wall.
These terms get used interchangeably, but there is a distinction worth understanding. White label means you're branding an existing product the factory already makes — faster and lower cost to get started. Private label means you're creating a custom product specification, which gives you more differentiation but takes more time and investment. We offer both. Not sure which is right for you? Book a call and we'll work it out together.
If your category isn't listed, get in touch anyway — if it can be manufactured in China or Vietnam, we've likely sourced something similar before.
MPI & Biosecurity: If your white label product contains organic materials (wood, bamboo, leather, natural fibres), it must comply with MPI biosecurity requirements. Some products require fumigation certificates or ATF clearance on arrival. We flag these during the sourcing stage — not after your container is sitting at the port.
Product Safety & Labelling: Consumer products sold in NZ must meet safety standards under the Consumer Guarantees Act and Product Safety Act. For electronics, this includes RCM requirements. We check applicable standards during supplier vetting.
NZ Customs & Duty: Most consumer goods attract a 5% import duty + GST. Some product categories benefit from CPTPP preferential rates when sourced from Vietnam.
All work is quoted at a flat project rate. No commission on your order value. Ever.
Step 1: Discovery Call
We learn about your product, your brand, your target market, and your budget. If white labelling is the right move, we scope the project and send you a flat-rate quote.
Step 2: Supplier Search & Shortlist
Our Mandarin and Vietnamese-speaking sourcing team searches verified factory networks to find manufacturers that fit your brief. We present you with a shortlist of 3–5 options with notes on each.
Step 3: Sample Ordering
We facilitate sample orders from your preferred factory. We review samples on your behalf and flag any quality or spec concerns before you commit to a bulk order.
Step 4: Quality Control
Before production is finalised, our team conducts pre-shipment inspection at the factory — checking product quality, packaging, labelling, and order quantity against your specs.
Step 5: Freight & Delivery
We coordinate with your freight forwarder to get your order from factory to NZ port. Sea freight from China typically takes 18–25 days once loaded.
Most sourcing agents earn a percentage commission on your order value. That means the bigger and pricier your order, the more they earn — whether it's the right factory or not. We don't work that way.
Epic Sourcing charges a flat project rate. Our only incentive is to find you the best factory for your product, at the right price, with the quality you need. We're on your side.
Our team includes Mandarin-speaking specialists who communicate directly with Chinese factories — no translation gaps, no middlemen distorting your brief. We also have Vietnamese-speaking team members for Vietnam sourcing. And we're based in Auckland, so you can pick up the phone and talk to a real person in your time zone.
"Finding a reliable white label factory isn't just about the lowest price — it's about finding the manufacturer who cares about your product as much as you do. We help you find that factory."
